Definition:
Aun (∿) is a symbol for when the whole game—seeker, search, self, truth—just quietly folds. It’s not unity, not separation, not even nonduality. It’s that subtle collapse where things stop needing to be sorted out.
No answers, no final insight—just the end of the need to know. Aun doesn’t explain; it dissolves. It’s known as the atmosphere of being.
The Varieties of Aun Experience
Insight – a mental pop; something clicks into place.
Aha – heart meets head; sudden inner recognition.
Realization – the self sees through itself; profound, final-feeling.
Nondual Experience – a taste of no-separation; often short, unforgettable.
Enlightenment – the big mythic one; often misunderstood, sometimes overrated, sometimes real.
Transmission – presence without message; something shifts, silently.
Recognition – soft, deep noticing of what’s always been.
Initiation – a threshold crossed, often invisible until after.
Drift – the slow dissolve of certainty.
Crack – a rupture in the structure of self.
Click – alignment, lock-in.
Tilt – perception slants just enough to never be the same.
Drop – the bottom falls out, and you don’t fall.
Snap – a clean break from the old frame.
Brush – something grazes you; subtle, intimate.
Glitch – the illusion flickers; you glimpse behind the curtain.
Thud – realization without ecstasy; raw and grounded.
Tuning – becoming resonant with what’s already true.
Undoing – the unraveling of effort, identity, belief.
Melt – meaning loses its grip; presence remains.
Hum – the quiet pulse behind everything.
Shimmer – the lightness in the edges of form and thought.
Each experience can be seen as a step or a leap towards recognizing and abiding in the nondual nature of existence. What is recognized has a number of names:
Suchness, This-ness, Just Is, Ground of Being, Awareness, Presence.
Of course, aun collapses the claim that there is anyone to abide. As noted at the start, Aun is that subtle collapse where things stop needing to be sorted out.
Welcome to Aun. Now let’s start aunifying.
Jerry, we must discuss this new approach to nonduality on my radio show Seekers and Finders. I'm sure you've heard of my radio show Seekers and Finders. It's all the rage in the non dual community.
I'm melting already.
